I picked up a Garmin smartwatch a few months ago thinking it’d just count steps… but wow, it’s turned into so much more than that.

Here’s how it’s been helping me stay on track with health & fitness:

  • Training metrics – VO2 max, recovery time, body battery… I didn’t realize how much smarter my workouts could be once I had actual data guiding me.
  • Heart rate & stress tracking – Being able to see my heart rate zones during workouts (and even during work stress 🤯) has been a game-changer.
  • Sleep insights – Turns out I wasn’t as “well rested” as I thought. Garmin’s sleep tracking + recovery scores have pushed me to improve my routine.
  • GPS accuracy – Whether I’m running, hiking, or cycling, the GPS maps are spot-on. It makes reviewing workouts super motivating.
  • Daily accountability – It buzzes me to move when I’ve been sitting too long and celebrates when I hit my goals. Feels silly, but it actually keeps me going.

Honestly, it feels like having a coach on my wrist that knows me better than I do sometimes.
